Dr. Anil Kumar is an accomplished chemist, researcher and educator with over 16 years of experience in academia. He currently serves as the Head of Department and Assistant Professor in the P.G. Department of Chemistry at Sahibganj College, affiliated with Sido-Khanu Murmu University in Jharkhand, India.

Dr. Kumar holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Indian School of Mines (now IIT-ISM Dhanbad), where he conducted research on the kinetics and morphology of natural gas hydrate nucleation. His areas of expertise include physical chemistry, applied chemistry, spectroscopy, environmental chemistry, and computational chemistry.

Throughout his career, Dr. Kumar has made significant contributions to research and scholarship. He has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals and presented his work at national and international conferences. His research interests span a wide range of topics including molecular docking, soil and water analysis, corrosion science, green chemistry, and applications of artificial intelligence in chemistry.

As an educator, Dr. Kumar is known for his innovative teaching methods and commitment to student success. He has developed engaging lesson plans and laboratory experiments to promote active learning in chemistry at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Dr. Kumar also serves as an academic counselor for IGNOU, providing guidance to distance learning students.

In recognition of his achievements, Dr. Kumar has received several prestigious awards including the Best Faculty Award and Best Researcher Award from the VDGOOD Professional Association. He is a Life Fellow of the Indian Chemical Society and Indian Science Congress Association.

Beyond his academic responsibilities, Dr. Kumar is actively involved in administrative duties at Sahibganj College. He has served in various capacities including Bursar, Examination Controller, and RUSA Coordinator. He is also passionate about science outreach and has judged several district-level science exhibitions.

Dr. Kumar maintains a popular YouTube channel called “Hot Spot Chemistry by Anil Kumar” where he shares educational content to make chemistry accessible to a wider audience. Through his teaching, research and outreach efforts, Dr. Kumar continues to make valuable contributions to the field of chemistry and inspire the next generation of scientists.
