Executive Summary
All authors of any work submitted to RSYN RESEARCH LLP journals are required to understand and follow the best ethical practices for publishing of research. RSYN RESEARCH LLP is committed to providing essential services for dissemination of quality science and research content for the global scientific community. Central to this service is the responsibility that editors, authors, and reviewers maintain the highest ethical standards relating to the publication of manuscripts.
RSYN RESEARCH LLP endorses that all authors should follow the core practices and best practice guidelines defined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). In addition, the following guidelines must be adhered to for all submissions to RSYN RESEARCH LLP journals.
Manuscript Contents
All authors are responsible for the contents included in any manuscripts submitted to RSYN RESEARCH LLP journals. Submission of a manuscript to any RSYN RESEARCH LLP journal is considered a presumption that:
- Submission is being made with the approval of all listed authors
- All authors have read the contents and approved the submission
- The same work has not been submitted to any other journal
- The work is not under processing or evaluation in any other journal
- Authors understand and consent to the applicable Article Processing Charges (APCs) as outlined in the Open Access Policy
- All data and findings presented are original and authentic
Authors must ensure that their manuscript adheres to the specific formatting and submission guidelines of the target journal within the RSYN RESEARCH LLP portfolio.
Authorship
Author Responsibilities
The corresponding author must ensure that all researchers or persons who have contributed significantly to the work being submitted for publication have been listed as co-authors and/or appropriately acknowledged in the acknowledgement section.
Authorship should reflect intellectual contributions to the conception, design, analysis, and writing of the study. The collection of data and other routine work alone does not warrant authorship. If there is no substantial intellectual contribution that can reasonably be attributed to a particular individual, then that individual should not be credited with authorship.
Authors have a responsibility to give due acknowledgement to all contributors to the work, including:
- Technical staff and data professionals
- Research assistants and laboratory personnel
- Funding agencies and institutional support
- Collaborating institutions and researchers
Submission Requirements
During manuscript submission, the corresponding author must:
- Attest that all named co-authors have agreed to the submission for publication
- Accept responsibility for having properly included all (and only) appropriate co-authors
- Approve the 'license to publish' on behalf of all authors
- Confirm understanding of APC obligations and payment responsibilities
- Provide accurate metadata for all authors including affiliations and funding information
Any change in authorship after initial submission must be approved by all authors and justified to the editor with appropriate documentation.
Authorship Disputes
In case of authorship disputes, authors are encouraged to reach a mutual agreement through direct communication. If this is not possible, unresolved disputes should be referred to the responsible research institution(s) for mediation. RSYN RESEARCH LLP reserves the right to suspend publication pending resolution of authorship disputes.
Author Metadata Accuracy
The corresponding author must carefully verify:
- Spelling and format of all author names
- Complete and accurate institutional affiliations
- Correct sequence of authors
- Funding information and grant numbers
- Contact information and ORCID IDs where available
This metadata will be transferred to indexing services and databases upon publication, so accuracy is essential for proper indexing, citations, and future funding evaluations.
Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest that could influence the research, its interpretation, or the publication process. While conflicts of interest are often unavoidable, they must be transparently declared.
Types of Conflicts
Conflicts of interest may arise from various sources and should be disclosed even if authors believe they do not affect the research:
- Financial conflicts: Employment, consultancy fees, stock holdings, patent interests, or research funding from organizations that may benefit or lose from publication
- Personal relationships: Family, personal, or professional relationships with reviewers, editors, or other stakeholders
- Academic conflicts: Institutional rivalries, academic disputes, or competitive research interests
- Professional conflicts: Editorial board memberships, reviewing activities, or leadership roles in relevant organizations
Financial Interests
Authors must declare any significant financial interest – recent, present, or anticipated – in any organization that may gain or lose financially from publication. This includes:
- Employment by relevant organizations
- Research funding or grants
- Consulting fees or honoraria
- Stock holdings or equity interests
- Patent applications or intellectual property rights
- Speaking fees or travel support
Other Interests
Authors should disclose other potential conflicts including:
- Personal relationships with reviewers, editors, or journal staff
- Academic rivalries or collaborations that may affect objectivity
- Any interests that would be embarrassing if publicly known
- Institutional pressures or expectations that may influence the research
Conflict of Interest Statement
Authors must include a Conflicts of Interest statement in the manuscript, placed after the acknowledgements section. If no conflicts exist, this must be explicitly stated as: “The authors declare no conflicts of interest.”
Recommended Reviewers
When submitting manuscripts, authors may be asked to recommend suitable reviewers. Recommended reviewers must meet the following criteria:
- Expertise: Recognized experts in the relevant field of study
- Independence: No conflicts of interest with authors or their institutions
- Geographic diversity: From different countries and institutions than the authors
- Professional diversity: Representing different career stages, genders, and institutional types
- Contact information: Institutional email addresses preferred over personal accounts
- Availability: Currently active researchers who can provide timely reviews
Authors must not recommend:
- Current or recent collaborators (within 3 years)
- Colleagues from the same institution
- Personal friends or family members
- Researchers with known conflicts of interest
- Junior researchers without established expertise
