Dr. Vrajesh Shah, Ph.D., PMP®

Dr. Vrajesh Shah is an esteemed Synthetic Organic Chemist with over 15 years of comprehensive experience in small molecule synthesis, API R&D, process development, and custom synthesis. Currently based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Dr. Shah has demonstrated exceptional proficiency in impurity profiling, structural elucidation, and regulatory documentation, establishing himself as a leading figure in the pharmaceutical industry.

Dr. Shah earned his Ph.D. from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, where his thesis focused on the strategic utilization of the Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reaction and ring-closing metathesis in organic synthesis. He also holds a Master of Science in Organic Chemistry and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.

Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Shah has held pivotal roles at several renowned pharmaceutical companies. At Abbott Healthcare Pvt. Ltd., he served as Senior Scientist and later as Principal Scientist, where he led the selection and qualification of new API suppliers, conducted due diligence, and resolved manufacturing issues. His tenure at Cadila Healthcare Ltd. saw him rise from Scientist/Deputy Manager to Senior Scientist/Manager, where he led a team of scientists in process development, optimization, and technology transfer projects.

Dr. Shah's expertise extends to the synthesis of impurity profiles, scale-up processes, and the development of efficient synthetic routes for APIs. His work at Syngene International Ltd., a Biocon company, involved leading a team in the synthesis of libraries of quinazolinone derivatives and developing efficient PARP inhibitors. Earlier in his career, at Alembic Ltd., he scaled up procedures for anti-diabetic and anti-osteoporosis drugs, transferring these technologies to pilot plants.

A certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) and Six Sigma Yellow Belt, Dr. Shah excels in project management, cost reduction strategies, and process optimization. His strategic thinking and analytical skills have significantly contributed to the efficiency and productivity of the projects he has led.

Dr. Shah's research has been widely published, with numerous articles in renowned international journals. His publications cover a range of topics, including the synthesis of multi-armed oxazoles, the development of fluorescent probes, and the strategic utilization of cross-coupling reactions. He also holds several patents, highlighting his innovative contributions to the field.
