Dr. Udayabanu Malairaman is a distinguished neuroscientist and pharmacologist with over two decades of research and academic experience. Currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics at Jaypee University of Information Technology, Dr. Malairaman has made significant contributions to the fields of neurological disorders, memory impairment, and drug discovery.

Dr. Malairaman's academic career started with a Bachelor of Pharmacy from The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, and then he went on to earn a Master of Pharmacy with a focus in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Shri G.S. Institute of Technology & Sciences. He then pursued his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Delhi, where his research focused on the role of zinc in hypobaric hypoxia-induced memory impairment and neuronal damage.

Dr. Malairaman has demonstrated exceptional research prowess throughout his career, securing multiple grants from prestigious organizations such as DRDO, DBT, and ICMR. His work has resulted in over 35 publications in high-impact international journals, including Frontiers in Pharmacology, Neuroscience, and Hormones and Behavior. His research on quercetin's effects on chronic unpredicted stress-mediated memory dysfunction earned him the prestigious Frank A. Beach Award.

Dr. Malairaman's expertise spans various techniques, including animal behavioral studies, tissue analysis, immunofluorescence, and computer-aided drug design. He has successfully mentored numerous Ph.D. and master's students, fostering the next generation of researchers in the field. As a reviewer for esteemed journals like PLoS ONE, Neuroscience Letters, and Neurochemistry International, Dr. Malairaman continues contributing to the scientific community's rigorous peer-review process. His commitment to advancing knowledge in pharmacology, neuroscience, and behavioral science is evident through his extensive work and ongoing research initiatives.
